beatmyoddsGrimsley Head Canon:
Enjoys ballroom dancing: Due to his upbringing among high society, Grimsley was tutored in the arts of ballroom dancing. He enjoys it to this day, even if he doesn't go out of his way for it.
Likes to read things like the works of Stoker, Poe, and a certain fellow Elite Trainer: Being well read, Grimsley enjoys a good story now and then during his downtime. Interestingly, he does need to wear reading glasses.
Plays 1 Man Chess: Grimsley likes to challenge himself when he's really bored and has no challengers to entertain him. He has a chess board set up in his room with an ongoing game, he takes turns playing each side, making a new move ever so often.
Can't Really Cook: Grimsley claims he can cook, but in reality the best he can manage are the most basic of recipes, to keep himself from starving. He was brought up having servants, and so he never really learned or had need to till later in life.
Hates Sore Winners/Losers: Grimsley detests anyone who can't win or lose with grace and manners, and so he enjoys teaching such people a lesson. However, it doesn't always end well if the person isn't willing to learn, and they happen to decide to retaliate. He's ended up in a fair amount of bad situations because of it.
Squeamish Around Bugs: Grimsley seems to be more than a little squeamish about bug type Pokémon, it's hard to say if they scare him or gross him out. Chances are he'll never admit to either possibility but it seems likely that they scare the hell out of him, if not both. He tends to do everything in his power to avoid the creepy-crawlies. His fear stems from an incident with Joltiks/Galvantula. So they freak him out more so than other bugs types.
Loves Chocolate: Grimsley keeps a box of chocolates on hand, it's a good pick me up, and he enjoys the consistency. It has to be pure chocolates, or something filled with a soft cream. He doesn't enjoy jellies, or nuts.
Loves a finely aged red wine: Grim enjoys a nice glass of wine, however his preference is red.
His Scarf Was a Present: Grimsley's trademark yellow scarf was a gift. It's made of sewaddle silk.
Mood swings once he goes past his level of tolerance for Alcohol: Grimsley enjoys drinking regularly, but he does have his limits. He does get drunk after indulging too much, and it can affect his moods. Thus, he tends to be a smart drinker, and paces himself. His switch in mood depends on what he's had to drink. If he has too much wine, he tends to sink further inward and becomes incredibly contemplative, brooding and honest to himself.
Never tans, only burns: Grimsely doesn't handle long periods of time in the sun well, and he's incapable of getting a tan. The dark type specialist tends to get a pretty bad, painful burn if he isn't mindful of the time he spends out, or if he neglects the use of sunscreen.
Drapion: Because Grimsley is a bit stubborn now and again, he made an attempt to get the better of his bug phobia. The plan was to catch one and raise it, thus beating the fear. However instead he ended up with one of main team members to his line up being capable of giving him the creeps/startling/frightening him pretty much all the time. He cares about it just like he cares about all his Pokémon, but... Drapion unsettles him. Less than when it was a skorupi, but still, unsettling. He is really no closer to besting his fears than before.
Hometown/city: I've always been of the mind that Grimsley would come from Castelia, probably not immediately in the city, but growing up in a large old family estate just outside the city. He spent most of his time in Castelia, even after he had a falling out with his family, leading up to when he finally got serious about being a trainer.
Sexuality: I play Grimsley as a bisexual. Gender means very little to the man, it's ones personality that actually tends to be his main focus. Someone he needs to work to read, a challenge, or someone who ignites a spark of interest in one way or another. He also loves having someone he can get a rise out of by just being the little troll that he is. He still appreciates a good looking person as much as the next man, but male or female doesn't usually mean much.
OCD: Grimsley can be very OCD about his living spaces. He has a certain order that he likes everything to be in, and is very organized for the most part. He hates it when someone moves things around or messes with sets he's put in a particular place. BUT he wont hesitate to move other people's things around to his own liking.
- He also dislikes 52 pick up, he has to count and sort each and every card regardless of knowing where all the cards are when they drop. He has to know 100% that every card of every suit is back in the deck. Even in other situations aside from playing cards, he likes to know that everything is complete and where it should be.
